The Mid-Utica Neighborhood Preservation Corporation (MUNPC), historically known as the Leisure Time Activity Center and commonly referred to as Mid-Utica, is a Black-founded organization that has worked to convene, uplift, and end blight in the Greater Utica area since 1979.

Our mission is to serve as a gathering place for purposeful program activities that promote a sense of belonging and connectedness, which is essential to building community and preserving community pride.  
​
At the heart of our efforts currently are the Bessie Hicks Senior Program, providing adult social programs, physical fitness activities, and Bible Study, helping our seniors remain active and engaged!  The annual Utica Juneteenth Celebration brings our community together by commemorating freedom, culture, and unity.
​
In the Cornhill Leisure Time Activity Center, we historically provided community gathering/event space, early childhood education, and youth day care services.  These programs provided a nurturing environment for families to come together, and we look forward to continuing our work.

Your contribution helps to end blight, promote well-being, and celebrate our shared heritage. It also helps us to work with our community members:
- Expand our Bessie Hicks Senior Program, adding new activities and outreach efforts to serve more seniors in our community.
- Enhance our Juneteenth Celebration, ensuring it remains a vibrant and impactful event that reflects our community’s rich culture and history.
- Support diverse programming for area youth and seniors at the Empowerment Center located at 230 James St.
